The Year Ahead

Greetings in 2016, and all the best to you nature lovers out there, throughout this year and beyond. The year is about to begin in earnest for our volunteers. Monthly Committee meetings are starting (which we always hope will be finished within an hour, but invariably last at least four!) The length of time taken is a measure of the amount of activity we have on. Grateful thanks to our helpers who have kept the nursery plants healthy and increasing in number over the summer hols. There is always lots to be done with the plants, and we are truly grateful for an extra pair of hands, even if just for an hour. We are at the nursery, next to Awhitu School in Matakawau, every Tuesday and Thursday from 9.30 until midday (and once a month we hold community nursery working bees, these dates are as noted on our event calendar). It is always an enjoyable community atmosphere with a cuppa to follow (and don’t they say there’s nothing better for the soul than nurturing plants?) Also - keep an eye out for our Easter field trip this year, on the Sunday of Easter weekend. It’ll be one you won’t want to miss.
